HDH Medical Ltd. is a medical device company that has developed an innovative Hermetic Docking Head (HDH) vascular device and supporting surgical instruments, which enable suture-less open and laparoscopic vascular surgical procedures. HDH^TM device is used to rapidly and permanently connect any standard vascular graft to a blood vessel of a patient. Reliable connection is created in less than 10 minutes which shortens the cross–clamping time by an order of magnitude, and reduces the operative and post operative complications.

HDH technology is enabling for the Laparoscopic vascular surgery. Until now laparoscopic repair required unreasonably lengthy and technically difficult surgeries. HDH Laparoscopic vascular repair is expected to compare very favourably with the cost, frequent complications and technical difficulties involved in endovascular repair.

The primary Target Market segment for the device is Abdominal Aortic and Aorto-Iliac Aneurysms repair. More than 180,000 of these procedures were performed in Europe and the USA in 2005 with an average cost exceeding $55,000/procedure. Due to competitive advantages the HDH device used with a standard graft in open surgery is expected to generate a direct economic value of approximately $9000/case. HDH is also entering the market for laparoscopic vascular surgery where it is an enabling technology. HDH expect that laparoscopic repair using their devices will successfully compete with complex and expensive endovascular procedures being used today, which cost between $8,000 and $18,000 and frequently require customization.
